Training mode

in this update I added a training mode, The purpose of the training mode is to act as a tutorial of all the games mechanics. but I also want to expand the purpose of training to be fun isolated mini games, something like the Madden training camp mode. Currently I have on added a basic QB Throwing mode and a Sprinting mode that teaches you how to move and sprint. I want to add different timed challenges, that might be linked to some type of unlockable I have not determined yet. I also want to include these training mini games in Season mode (planned feature) and have it add to player progression in some way.  There is a lot I can do with this training mode and i have not entirely wrapped my head around everything yet, but as time goes on I will flesh it out more.

The other feature I added in this release, is a way to change plays before the ball is snapped. So the way play calling works now is, every formation has a list of plays and they are tagged with specific key words such as deep pass/run... etc. before the down starts you pick from a list of tags and one of the matching plays get selected at random (might add smarter controls later depending on what's going on). now before the ball is snapped you can cycle all the plays in the selected formation. It's kind of like an audile, where you can change the play based on the look the defense is giving you. 


In this update I also made very minor tweaks to the defense AI, That topic will most likely merit it's own dedicated post.

That's a good addition. It teaches the game to a person like me who is not familiar with Rugby.

this looks very good, the last time I saw this it looked very different, lots of progress
